Dear Community of St Columba’s,
Teresa of Avila (Christ has no body)
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
Last Wednesday I attended the LifeLink gathering, with our Head and Deputy Head Boy and Girl where we heard a powerful message from Archbishop Costelloe and the Bishops of Perth about how each of us can make a real difference in the lives of those in need.
The LifeLink Appeal supports vital Catholic agencies across Perth, helping people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, family hardship and more. It is a living example of faith in action.
Bishop Sproxton reflected on the words of Saint Teresa of Ávila: “Christ has no body now but yours.” This reminds us that Christ’s work continues through us. In our school community, this means showing compassion, offering support, and reaching out to others in kindness.
Our Year 6 Students have already begun thinking of ways we can contribute to LifeLink during Term 3. Through small acts of care and generosity, we help make Christ visible in the world.
Thank you
In last week’s Donegal, I missed acknowledging the parents from our P&F Sub-Committee who generously assisted with the sausage sizzle. Thank you to Marina, Amieka, Rose, Kally and Annie for your time and support. We are very grateful.

P & F News
Thank you!
A big thank you to everyone who attended the P&F Meeting last night. We appreciate your time, ideas and ongoing support of our school community. It was wonderful to see so many parents and friends involved, and we look forward to working together on the exciting initiatives and events planned for the remainder of the year.
Just One Thing
Our P&F is built on sharing the load. If everyone does Just One Thing, it makes a big difference to our school community. Whether it’s helping at an event, lending a skill, or supporting behind the scenes, every contribution counts.
Please take a minute to complete our short Volunteer Interest Survey and let us know how you’d feel most comfortable helping this year.

Class News
Junior Design Technology – Pre Primary and Year 1
This term, in junior primary, our focus has been on food and fibre; discussing what our favourite foods, clothing, furniture and building materials are made from.
The Pre-Primaries are investigating what materials help protect their Ultra Violet sensitive creature from the sun.
The Year Ones are now looking at the preparation and hygienic practices people must undertake to ensure what they are eating is safe.

Middle and Senior Design Technology – Year 2 to Year 6
This term in Middle and Senior Primary, students have been building their creativity and problem-solving through a range of engaging design projects. In Term 1, students explored the Food and Fibre context within Design Technologies, developing an understanding of where products come from. In Term 2, they have applied this learning through hands-on projects including arcade games, desk organisers, inclusive town planning, playground design, and culturally inspired food trucks.
Year 2 students have been designing and building their own arcade games, exploring simple mechanisms and hands-on construction.
Year 3 students have been digitally designing desk organisers and are now bringing their ideas to life using recycled materials.
Year 4 students have been learning about town planning and project management, working in teams to design an accessible and inclusive community.
Year 5 students have been investigating playground design, analysing our school’s playgrounds and creating their own improved designs.
Year 6 students have been exploring food immigration in Australia and are designing their own food trucks that represent a chosen culture.
