Principal's Post

Dear Community of St Columba’s,

What a fantastic day we had at our faction carnival! The sun was shining, and the spirit was high. Whilst we needed to move our plans from our normal venue to another the day ran smoothly and seemed to be enjoyed by all. We’d love to hear about your carnival experience.

A huge thank you to Mr Banks for his outstanding coordination of the event. His hard work and dedication ensured that everything ran smoothly, and we are incredibly grateful for his efforts.

Another thanks to all the parents who supported the P&F Bake Sale. Your delicious treats were a hit! Proceeds from the Bake Sale are going towards our Early Childhood Playground.

To all students, your enthusiasm and sportsmanship truly shone through. It was inspiring to see everyone participating with such great spirit, trust, and friendship. You made the day special for everyone involved.

Thank you all once again for your support and participation. It is days like these that remind us of the wonderful community we have.

Catholic Education WA Priorities

Western Australia is the only State in Australia which does not provide any capital grant assistance to non-Government schools. Much of the capital costs, such as new buildings and playgrounds, are made possible through fees and fundraising efforts from parents, like the Bake Sale at yesterday’s Faction Carnival.

As we approach the State Election, Catholic Education WA seeks a commitment from the Government of Western Australia for an annual capital grant of $25 million for Catholic schools and an injection of funds to support capital works in the Kimberley regions where CEWA is the sole provider of education. Please see the below key facts to assist all parents to be advocates for their child’s Catholic education.

It was a great turnout with many sweet and savoury treats sold, raising over $1,000 in funds for our School. We have several containers that were left behind, these will be at the office from tomorrow for collection. Above all, thanks to the teachers who put on a superb carnival! Hope all the children had a very fun day!
