Principal's Post

Dear Community of St Columba’s,

Feast of the Assumption of Mary

Last Friday we celebrated Mary’s body and soul being taken into heaven. This is a sign of hope and faith for all believers.

Thank you to all the parents who joined the Year 3-6 classes last Friday to celebrate this special occasion with our school community. Your presence made it truly meaningful.

Thank you also to our Year 4 Team for preparing and leading the celebration.

Congratulations to the Xavier Family

On behalf of the entire St Columba’s community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mrs Amanda Xavier (5W Teacher) on the joyful arrival of her grandson, Hugo. What a special moment as she becomes a proud Nonna!

We also celebrate Miss Adriana Xavier on becoming a very excited Aunty.

Wishing the whole family love, laughter, and beautiful memories with little Hugo.

Please note: Costumes are not restricted to the theme.

Class News

From our Science classes:

This term in science our students are studying biology. We have been learning what makes a specimen either living or non-living. The year threes have learnt the acronym ‘MRS GREN’ to help them remember that living things Move, Respire, Sense, Grow, Reproduce, Excrete and Need Nutrients. The year fours have been learning about life cycles and even drew creative life cycle diagrams for their own crazy self-invented hybrid insect like the ‘giraffe-fly’ or ‘panda-ant’. The year twos are also learning about growth and change, they are patiently waiting to see our mealworms grow into their next life stage. The year ones have been learning about habitats and body features of animals.

Please keep an eye out in the next few weeks for information regarding the highly anticipated St. Col’s Science Fair, to be held in Term Four!
