Principal's Post

Dear Community of St Columba’s,

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, I would like to sincerely thank our parents and families for your ongoing support, partnership and commitment to our school community throughout Term 3. 

This term has been filled with many wonderful learning opportunities ranging from Sports Carnivals, Musical Festivals, Sacramental Celebrations and our much loved Book Week Parade. Our students have embraced these opportunities with enthusiasm and should be very proud of their efforts and achievements. Thank you for the encouragement you provide at home and for the many ways you support school life. 

I would also like to acknowledge and thank Breanna Filocamo and Sarah Lombardo for their outstanding leadership while Niall was away. They generously stepped into the Acting Assistant Principal roles, supporting staff, students and families with professionalism, care and dedication. We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to take on these responsibilities and for the positive contribution they made during this time.

Archbishop’s LifeLink Appeal 

As we conclude the term, I also encourage our community to support the Archbishop’s LifeLink Appeal this Friday. Students are invited to wear either Crazy Socks or Fremantle Dockers merchandise over their usual school uniform in exchange for a donation, preferably a gold coin donation. Your generosity will help support individuals and families in need across our wider community, and we thank you in advance for your support of this worthy cause.

WA Student Assistance Payment – closing this Friday! 

The State Government is offering a third round of the WA Student Assistance Payment (WASAP). WASAP is a cost-of-living measure to support eligible families with school-related costs such as books, uniforms, excursions and other everyday expenses.  

The payment offers support to parents and carers of school-age children with:   

• $150 for each Kindergarten and primary student, and   

• $250 for each secondary student.  

The WA Student Assistance Payment is available to claim through the ServiceWA app.  Please be quick. Claims close on 25 September 2026.

A reminder that students will return to full summer uniform at the commencement of Term 4.

Closed on Sundays, Public Holidays & partly during term breaks.

World Day of Migrants and Refugees

This weekend 26-27 September will be an opportunity for our parish to celebrate our cultural differences and similarities. Please bring a plate of food to share at the functions which will be held after each Mass.

You may like to wear your cultural dress or something that represents your country of origin.

International Supper after 6pm Mass

Morning Tea after 7.30am and 9.30am Masses

ST COLUMBA’S PARISH – CAN YOU HELP??

The St Columba’s Parish is looking for an experienced paver to assist with repaving the area under the new portico. Assistance may come in the form of expertise in the area of paving or helping to engage someone who has this experience. Help with sourcing the pavers would also be appreciated.

From our Pre Kindy Classes

Sensory play is a huge and exciting part of our Pre-kindy week! These messy adventures are not just lots of fun, they are doing some serious brain building and helping our little learners to strengthen their tiny hand muscles, discover new words, and figure out how the world works. We love watching their eyes light up with curiosity as they explore, splash, and learn!
