Principal's Post

Dear Community of St Columba’s,

A warm welcome back as we return to school for Term 2. I hope you had a blessed and joyful Easter break, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. This sacred season reminds us of the hope, renewal, and promise of new life that comes through Christ. Hopefully families found the break refreshing, filled with rest, joy, and quality time with family and friends. It has been wonderful to see the children return to school with such enthusiasm, ready to engage in their learning. I’m looking forward to the term ahead and all the opportunities it brings for learning, growth, and connection within our school community.

Federal Election

St Columba’s will be a polling venue for the Federal Election this Saturday 3 May. Our amazing P&F will be organising catering througout the day for all who will pass through our gates to vote. Please support the P&F in this event.

Mother’s Day Breakfast

Our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast is fast approaching on Friday 9 May and we are reaching out to all parents, but particularly Fathers and Father-like figures who can assist in preparing and serving breakfast to our Mums and children on this day. Once again, please keep an eye out for information from your P&F Class Parent Representative.

Fun Run (with plenty of colour)

As mentioned last term, please note the date of a much-anticipated Fun Run has now been confirmed! This will take place on Friday 6 June, coinciding with our Mercy Mission & St Columba’s Day celebrations. Further details will be available shortly.

Other upcoming events:

Please be sure to check out our Calendar on our Website to stay informed of dates and events for Term 2.

  • Saturday 10 May: Community Mass at 6pm

I would like to wish our Principal, Mrs Gina Burns, all the very best for her pilgrimage as she explores the lives and legacy of the great Saints of Italy, along with some well-earned time for rest and renewal. Finally I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the wonderful P&F who are covering a number of events this term. These are courageous people who volunteer to take on work to benefit our community on top of their already busy lives.

We look forward to a wonderful Term 2 filled with lots of excitement and learning.

Kind regards

WINTER UNIFORM

As we move into the cooler months, a reminder from Week 3 all students need to be in full winter uniform. This is also a good time to ensure all grooming requirements are being adhered to – especially regarding hair and jewellery.

Please click here for the school’s uniform policy:

If you are waiting on items from the Uniform Shop to arrive, please provide classroom teachers with a note outlining this.

We appreciate parents supporting us with maintaining these standards.
