Dear Community of St Columba’s,
Stations of the Cross
Every Friday during Lent, we participate in the Stations of the Cross to remember and think about the very special journey that Jesus took when he was on his way to the cross. Each Station tells a part of the story and helps us understand how much Jesus loved everyone. It is like walking with Jesus through the tough parts of his day, and by doing this, we learn about kindness, love, and helping others. The Stations help us remember how Jesus showed us how to be brave and caring, even when things are hard.
Our Year 6 Students will lead a dramatised version of the Stations of the Cross at the following two times:
Friday 4 April: 7.00 pm at St Columba’s Church
Friday 11 April: 1.45 pm at St Columba’s Church (for Students in Years 1-6).
You are most welcome to join us.

Religious Education and Curriculum News
From our Year 5 Classes:
In Religious Education, Year 5 has been deepening their understanding of Lent and Easter, reflecting on how Jesus always chose to obey God and trusted in His strength to overcome challenges. We explored the story of The Temptation of Jesus in the Wilderness, where Jesus resisted temptation and remained faithful to God. To bring our learning to life, we created comic strips illustrating this powerful story and the lessons it teaches us about faith, trust, and perseverance.
From our Pre Primary classes:
It is shaping up in Pre-Primary as the students explore the different types of two-dimensional shapes. We used familiar two-dimensional shapes to create 2D robots and carefully counted and recorded how many of each shape we used. We also had a close look at the number of sides and corners these shapes have, making them different to one another.
