Dear Community of St Columba’s,
Community Baptism Ceremony
The Sacrament of Baptism is the initiation into the Catholic Faith.
Father Andrew has set the date for the next Community Baptism Ceremony at ST Columba’s Parish on Sunday 30 March 10.45am after the 9.30 mass. An information session will be held on Thursday 13 March at 6.00pm.
Please contact Mrs Leesa Vinciullo leesa.vinciullo@cewa.edu.au to express interest or to ask any questions you may have. You may also feel free to share this information with friends and family.
Individual Education Plans
Next week our teachers will commence meetings for students who are on an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Please be sure to check for a message from your teacher to book a time.
An IEP is a written statement that describes the adjustments, goals and strategies to meet a student’s individual educational needs so they can reach their full potential. It is essential as it helps to plan and monitor a student’s unique learning needs.
IEPs are required for:
- students with additional needs, including medical care needs, attendance, etc.
- students supported under disability funding programs;
- students not demonstrating growth, as evidenced by data.
We appreciate your assistance in ensuring that these important meetings are scheduled, and that each student’s needs are met.
Parent Teacher Information Evening
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Parent Teacher Information Evening.
Moving forward if you have any further questions about your child and their learning, I encourage you first to speak to the classroom teacher. Working closest with your child, they are best positioned to answer your query in the first instance. Respectful, open and timely communication is at the heart of the parent-school relationship. If you are left concerned or not satisfied with the response, you are encouraged to direct your feedback to me so we can resolve this at the school.
Feedback
We are seeking your feedback for our EDU Dance End of Year Concert and Parent Teacher Information Evening.
Please refer to the SEESAW message sent by Mr Kehoe 18 February 2025.

Three Chances to Win for $1
To participate we ask that each child bring in $1 which gives them 3 chances to win the weekly prize.
Rosters for the Weekly Prize
Term rosters are placed on the classroom door and printed in the weekly newsletter for you to check when your child/children are due to donate the prize (one prize donated per child a year) for their class. The idea is to provide a small gift (eg book, puzzle, pencils etc) to the approx. value of $5.
The child rostered to donate a prize is kindly asked to hand the prize to the class teacher before the morning of their roster.
Would you like to Volunteer with us?
We are always looking for Volunteers to join the Pastoral Care Team. If you can spare a little time on a Wednesday morning after drop off, you can find us in the Church meeting room just as you enter from the basketball court entrance. Come say Hi on the 12th and see what we are all about or please feel free to reach out to us at by leaving a message with Lisa or Kylie in Administration and one of our amazing volunteers will talk you through volunteering with us.

From our Kindy Classes:
In Kindy we celebrated Valentine’s Day by spreading the ❤️. We read stories about 🧡. We sang songs about 💗. We decorated love heart biscuits 💜 and we were busy creating Valentine’s Day 💝 craft. We were filled with God’s love 🥰 all day long 😍❤️.
From our Year 6 classes:
We’ve kicked off the term in Mathematics with loads of energy, diving straight into new learning! Each day, we warm up with mental maths, then race against the clock with our times tables. Lately, we’ve been working on reading and writing huge numbers—up to millions and beyond—plus showing them in different ways like numerals, words, and expanded form. We’ve also been practicing putting numbers in order, from smallest to biggest and vice versa. It’s been a fun start, and we’re ready for even more maths challenges!
