Principal's Post

Dear Parents of St Columba’s,

Thank you to our Year 6 Leaders for leading the Remembrance Day Liturgy last Friday for our school. Peace is one of our MERCY Values and a part of our School Motto – “Grow in Faith, Seek Wisdom, Live in Peace.”

By our very way of life here at St Columba’s we are reminded we too can be peacekeepers every day. The Prayer of St Francis of Assisi (The Prayer for Peace) asks our Lord to help us spread peace to all around us.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

Our School Annual Community Meeting will be held next Wednesday 22 November in the School Library, commencing at 6 pm. You are all invited and very welcome to attend to listen to the annual reports of the School, Catholic School Advisory Council, and Parents and Friends Association.

Enjoy the excitement as we near the conclusion of the school year.

In gratitude

Gina Burns
Principal

Religious Education and Curriculum News

From our Kindergarten Classes:

This term in Kindy, we have been learning all about the very first Christmas when baby Jesus was born. We have loved reading stories, singing songs, painting, drawing, and dressing up in our Nativity play spaces.
