Dear St Columba’s Community,
I hope this newsletter finds you all in good health and spirits. A special welcome back to our Year 6 students and the Camp Team who returned last week. In this week’s Donegal, they have shared their memorable experiences through the wonderful photographs captured during their time away.
To our students participating in the Interschool Swim Carnival tomorrow, we wish you the best of luck! I will be there alongside five other staff members to support and cheer you on.
A big thank you to Signora Castro for organising this year’s Italian Day this coming Friday 3 May. We are excited to embrace the Italian Culture by dressing up and enjoying some gelato.
Lastly, our heartfelt congratulations to all individuals being baptised this Sunday at the St Columba’s Community Baptism Ceremony. I extend my gratitude to Mrs Leesa Vinciullo for her ongoing support in working with Fr Andrew and the families during this special initiation into the Catholic Faith. Since its inception in 2023, this will be our fourth Community Baptism, reflecting a growing interest within our community. If you or someone you know is considering becoming baptised, please reach out to Fr. Andrew at the Parish (9271 1414) or Leesa here at the school (9208 2700 / leesa.vinciullo@cewa.edu.au).

Religious Education and Curriculum News
From our Year 5’s
In Religion, the Year 5 students have been learning how God sent his Son Jesus to teach people what it means to be fully human. Jesus demonstrated this through his words and actions.
The children used examples from the Bible to help explain how Jesus taught people what it means to be fully human.
The illustrations depict how Jesus showed that God:
- searches for those who are lost.
- forgives those who do wrong.
- holds them tenderly in their brokenness.
- loves them faithfully, even when love is not returned.
From our Year 6’s
The Year 6’s had an amazing time expanding their paradigm on camp!
