Principal's Post

As many of you are aware, the faction swimming carnival has been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 restrictions. Mr Banks has tentatively booked Bayswater Waves on Friday 28 October, 2022 (week 3/Term 4) for the carnival to be run. Further information will be communicated closer to the time.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who helped in the co-ordinating of the Friday morning swim squad. Your help is very much appreciated and we know the children have enjoyed their time in the pool and especially the yummy breakfast afterwards.

If your child is showing COVID related symptoms and have had a positive PCR/RAT test outside of school hours please notify the school as soon as possible via email We appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Please note that lunch orders need to be placed before 8.30am on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. No late orders will be accepted.

Due to the recent positive COVID case at St Columba’s, jfe has temporarily suspended counter sales from their Osborne Park office.

All uniform purchases will be through on line orders only.  All online orders will be delivered to the school weekly.

If parents need to change sizes etc they can email JFE direct or pop into their showroom in Osborne Park. Returns/exchanges can be left at the school office.

School Counsellor News

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

A number of St Columbas’ families have requested information on how best to quarantine and isolate, where to obtain information regarding confirmed cases in Western Australia, information on COVID testing and also where the COVID clinics are located.  Please see below four links that will provide this information.  The staff at St Columba’s understand this is a very difficult time and our current COVID situation is causing stress and worry due to uncertainty, please be reassured that we are here to help and support our school community in the best way possible.  The Department of Health Website has wonderful resources and information so please check it out.

Please also find attached to this newsletter some ideas for calmness.

Religious Education and Curriculum News

From our Year 4’s

In Year Four last week we celebrated the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. We participated in an Ash Wednesday Prayer, where we had time to reflect on what we can do to grow closer to Jesus over the coming weeks.

From our Kindy class

In Kindy we have been learning about our families and what makes our family special and unique. We have read lots of stories about different families, we have counted how many people in our family and discussed how some families have three people and some have seven. But one thing we know is that all families love and care for one another.
