Principal's Post

SHROVE TUESDAY

Project Compassion will be launched next Tuesday.

To celebrate the launch and Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday the students will be supplied with pikelets (with butter and sprinkles). These would be distributed in a safe manner with gloves / tongs etc. We are asking students to make a gold coin donation (straight into the class Project Compassion box) for the pikelets.

ASH WEDNESDAY

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions the whole school Ash Wednesday Mass has been cancelled.

Each class will be doing a liturgy and once Father has blessed the ashes the Leadership team will go around and distribute them.

PASTORAL CARE RAFFLE IS BACK!!!!

The PC raffle will commence this week.  The cost is 20c per ticket.  3 tickets being the maximum purchased.  Rosters are published each week the Donegal and a copy of the roster is outside each classroom.  Please remember the preferable prize is a book not exceeding the value of $10.  It has always been the tradition to give a book of any description ie: colouring, joke or novel.

For the benefit of our new families to our wonderful school here’s an introduction about Pastoral Care.

Some years ago, a small group of parents established Pastoral Care at St Columba’s as a way of fostering a feeling of community in our school.  Over the years, families and individuals in our school community were supported and assisted during both difficult times and more joyful occasions.  We would like to continue to offer help to families at Saint Columbas.

Thank you everyone for always supporting the Pastoral Care Team and we look forward to continuing our yearly events being the Easter Raffle, Mother’s Day Breakfast and Father’s Day Breakfast.

We as adults, would love to have the simplicity of a child with the wisdom of an adult.

From our PP’s

Welcome to PPW! We have begun the year learning all about ourselves, especially our names, feelings, favourites & how to be kind to our friends.  We enjoyed creating colourful names for our ‘First Day of Pre-Primary’ display and  loved printing our names, remembering that all our names begin with an upper-case letter!

Do you know why your family chose your special name? ❤️ PPW
